Connect the filter between your telephone/ fax/ dialup modem and the incoming telephone line to keep the incoming line carrying the ADSL signal 'clean' of any unwanted noise or loading.
All telephones/ fax machines/ dialup modems using the line must be connected through an in-line filter. A maximum of 3 can be used per installation.

The ACS Advantage
S041 Filters have 4 clear advantages over the much-quoted RCIT.0004 and older filter designs:
1) S041 is the new legally-enacted standard in Australia to which all new ADSL filters must comply by 1st October 2006. It draws on the world’s best practice for ADSL filter performance and is intended to align the new ADSL2+ system’s performance to leading overseas standards, such as those of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
2) S041 certifies all of the ADSL filter characteristics to the full ADSL2+ bandwidth of 2.2MHz, which is double the bandwidth of RCIT.0004, the standard used by Telstra Australia.
3) S041 requires a filter to be noise-free when connected to a live ADSL system. Surprisingly, RCIT.0004 does not require a live ADSL noise test. Do you use RCIT.0004 listed filters and have interference on your telephone whenever the ADSL modem is on? It could be caused by your filters.
4) S041 specifies that the filter must remain effective whenever the telephone is not in use (on-hook). This may sound a bit technical, but just means that in addition to ADSL signals being blocked from appearing on the telephone side of the filter when the telephone is in use, they are also blocked from appearing on the telephone side of the filter when the telephone is not in use. This stops any telephone equipment from distorting the ADSL signals and reflecting them back onto the ADSL system when the telephone is not in use (quite a lot of the time in many cases) to maintain the performance of your ADL2+ system irrespective of whether a telephone is in use or not. RCIT.0004 does not require filters to comply with ADSL ‘on-hook’ filtering requirements.
Our filters undergo sophisticated 20 stage factory testing to ensure that every filter achieves our minimum quality standards prior to leaving the factory.
